Inter-Church Prayer Group

Prayer Week

Using the Bakers Oven in Dumfries high street as a prayer station  from the 14th to the 19th of September.

Initial aims

  • Honour and Glorify the Sovereign Lord, putting him at the centre of all we do, as the body of Christ – “keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus”.
  • Encourage all Christian fellowships to come together in unity, to use the incredible privilege of prayer.
  • Create a place of peace and calm where we’re able to meet the needs of anyone seeking personal prayer.
  • Allow us the freedom to pray for whatever or whoever the Lord puts on our hearts for prayer.

We would envision the use of photos, posters, music, literature, visual presentations and encouraging words from the Bible to make the station friendly and welcoming, and to provide a broad outlook of Christian Spirituality.

  • WHY CHURCHES TOGETHER?

    • Greater oneness between churches, fellowships and organisations as Jesus prayed, ’that they all may be one’ (John 17.21).

    • A growth of understanding and common life between churches, fellowships and organisations.

    • Unified action in proclaiming and responding to the gospel in the whole of life.
  • THIS WEEK WE PRAY FOR …

Bible Verse of the Day
