We believe that our faith in Jesus is not just for a Sunday! Various other meetings take place including Men’s and Ladies evenings; Young folks ministry; Bible studies as well as regular outreach ministry.

Glen Aros has a heart to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in word, deed and action. We are encouraged from the Bible to be not only hearers of the Word but doers.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the revealed will of God, and we believe the Holy Spirit is continuing the work He started at Pentecost empowering believers to live a godly life and continue in all the works of Jesus.
Glen Aros has strong links with Uganda, Cambodia, India and others, and it is wonderful to see how a local church in Dumfries, empowered by the Holy Spirit, can change the lives of the people of other nations. A team has recently returned from India where they had the delight of seeing the children of the orphanage receiving their own beds for the first time, what a blessing!
The mission of Glen Aros is to share the complete Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world, to see the ministry of the Holy Spirit come alive in the life of the believers and to help meet the practical needs of the people who we encounter.
This is not intended to be a comprehensive statement of all we believe but serves to show our belief in the fundamental truths that have under girded the true Christian faith from its inception through to this present day.
History
Back in the mid eighties a small group of people became born again through the preaching of the gospel by the minister in a church denomination. The gospel was not popular with the majority of the congregation and the minister left, so this small group decided to leave and started meeting regularly as a house church. Eventually the numbers attending became too big for the house and it was decided to meet publicly in a community centre so a name would be required for the group.
The house where the meetings were held was called Glen Aros, so it was agreed that the name should be Glen Aros Christian Fellowship. These days they are now called Glen Aros Church. The church meets in what used to be the community centre in Steel Avenue, Dumfries.
Glen Aros has grown greatly over the years and now is very active locally, nationally and internationally.
